-J160 is the 6 speed Altezza gearbox, R154 is the near indestructable Ma70 / JZA80 5 speed supra gearbox. As best I know there is no R160 box as per thread title.-J160 is made by the same people as the W5* box, (Aisn) and people who've stripped them down have commented that the gearsets are comparable size to W5*.

The actual case on the J160 is a bit stouter then the case used for the RX8, Miata, and S15, if you look carefully(in above photo) the J160 has a spine along the top of the case the others don't have. Here is a recent photo from LEEN showing the S15 bell/front case mounted to an RX8 transmission the "current" AZ6 user is Toyota with the GT86/FR.

WEll, im not going to get all into it again, as you can go find my 2 other threads. How to swap the W55-W58, whats required, and my review of the W58. In a nutshell, the W58 will hold the power. Also in a nutshell, i do not like the W58 at all because of its extreme long gearing mated with the stock 3.7 rear end. For a street car it is no good.

Compared to the W58 it's more effort to install due to the weight and the fact the bottom of the extension housing isn't as flat, but can be installed with a trolley jack and a second set of hands.
